For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
Romans 8: 14-16 NLT
I know Fathers’ Day has passed, but I just can’t get past this song.
As the Patterson Park worship team sang this heart-grabbing reminder of my True Father on Fathers’ Day, the moving music and lyric grabbed my grieving soul.
You see, the beautiful person deep inside my earthly father had been often obscured by the abuse of alcohol that trapped his soul and body. (Remembering My Dad)
Oh how sad and painfully tragic! Oh how I miss the real Daddy whom I truly loved yet often “hated” at the same time.
But gratefully, the timely reminder …
I have a FATHER, and He is my God.
I have a maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in this hands
He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And he heara me when i call
I have a father
He calls me him own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go
